ER, House, Gray's Anatomy...
ALL...
FULL OF SHIT!
Turns out they don't actually try to diagnose a damn thing...
This is how a "Real" hospital works:
Patient (my mom - Mama Bear) arrives complaining about crushing chest pains, difficulty breathing, and naseous. Hospitals checks for everything heart related. Keeps patient overnight running blood tests. Give patient stress test at 11 am the following day. FINALLY - 8:30 PM Dr comes to see patient only to say "all your tests are normal, I'm discharging you" (without so much as producing a stethascope).
Patients children, "uh, hell no Dr. If it's not the heart, what's causing these symptoms in my mom?"
Dr, "all her cardiac tests are normal, she needs to follow up with her primary care physician to find out what's wrong with her".
I think he's still in a coma from the CLOSED FIST PUNCH TO THE SIDE OF THE HEAD!
F-ER!
Fast forward through 3-days of Dr visits Mama Bear is feeling better. They ruled out heart and gall stones (but did find lesions on her liver that now have to be monitored) but they still don't know what caused the cardiac pain/symptoms. They are blaming it on stress and acid reflux.
Poor Mama Bear!

Oh Es, I'm sorry Mamma Bear didn't get any answers and that you all had to experience the *ugly* side of practiced medicine. BIG HUGS and GOOD VIBES to Mamma Bear and to you too. She is lucky to have Baby Bears that won't take "I don't know" for an answer.
Yes, I know. Doctors just don't do what we expect or want them to do. It's a process to get them to pay attention. It's difficult. I have been there. Waiting for answers.
Hi,
Was trolling the blogs and came across your site. Sorry to read about your mom but something you said at the end prompted me to write you.
I don't usually go thru sites and post this stuff but when you mentioned acid reflux (something I've dealt with for a long time) I thought you might be interested in this info for your mom.
Product is called Alkalete which just came out late last month (May 2010). I was so impressed with how it helped me I stopped my medication and only drink the beverage and occasionally take the caps. I signed up to be able to get it wholesale but that's as a distributor.
A new site will be up later this week if you want to try without a commitment like that. But please do take a look at the info on the site. Click on Products, find Alkalete then listen to the audio clips.
BTW As an athlete you might want to take a look at it too. Brian Clay (most recent Olympic Decathlon winner) and Carl Lewis are currently taking the product. And I just heard Kevin Sorbo is seriously looking at this product too.
My contact info is on the site if you have questions. http://evabaez.goyoli.com
Sorry if this goes against your comment rules - but it's obvious you really care for your mom and this might help her.
